My periods have been somewhat irregular and when I went to the doctor's a few weeks ago he said I had pre-ovulatory bleeding which basically meant my egg was not being released. I was told to go to my other doctor and see about getting on some kind of medication to balance out my hormone levels to promote healthy ovualtion. My husband and I have also been trying to concieve for over a year now, tracking BBT and such (not knowing I was having any problems). I did some research and found out about Clomid. I want to go discuss this with my doctor but have a few questions. First off, is a REGULAR FAMILY PHYSICIAN even able to prescribe a drug like this? Or will I have to go see a fertility specialist? Secondly, if I need to take this medication for health reasons, not fertility reasons do you think MEDICAID will cover the cost of the presciption? If not, how much does the Rx cost by itself?
