I look to all of you as my advisors... experts on the subject of fertilty, which is a whole new world for me. My first appointment at the RE is in two weeks from today and I want to be prepared. What can I expect and what should I bring and what should I ask? I am sooo excited, but very nervous too. Thanks ladies.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I had a sonogram during my first appoitment, then we sat down and reviewed the various testing procedures and what the next step would be.
My words of advice would be: Don't be afraid to ask questions! My Dr explained the reason he wanted to go through the tests in a certain order, which was nice, because it was different than their normal procedures (but it was only because of my sonogram findings). Since that first appointment, I wish I would have asked more questions along the way.
Best of Luck!!

My first RE appt started with a consultation. He drew diagrams and talked and let me talk. He used a lot of the stuff I had to write before I came as his guide. Then after our long (and very informative) chat I was taken to a room where I changed to a gown. They did a transvaginal ultrasound and told me what they were looking at. They also took samples, which felt just like a pap smear. Then I got dressed and went in another room. After that the DR talked to me more and asked what fertility drugs I have taken and then asked if I wanted to try Ovidrel.
Then a nurse showed me how to use Ovidrel and told me all about it. Then she talked to me more and gave me lots of informative stuff and sent me on my merry way.
I felt so refreshed and so at ease from going to the RE. they were super nice. It was like finally a doctor office that knew what we felt like emotionally and they were so kind. I know how busy they are but when they talked to me, they acted like I was their only patient.
I hope that you get the same or better experience.
