How is PCOS dx? We had trouble conceiving for 7 months finally I got pg. It ended 6-7 weeks later in m/c. I got pg again about 1 month later and it ended at 23 weeks with a stillborn. I had regular 28 day cycles until I turned 30. Then my cycles were messed up until the m/c. Then the month I got pg again I ovulated on day 14. Now I still have not gotten AF and it is almost 6 weeks since I had my baby boy Gavin(stillborn). This is common. I just got all the test results back. Nothing at all is wrong with me. My OB tested me for everything. The lady taking my blood said that I was being tested for things that she has never heard of. During my last pregnancy I had many ultrasounds and they looked at everything and everything was perfect. There was no reason that the baby should have died.
I have read that if you have PCOS you can have poor egg quality which can lead to m/c. So I thought maybe that is what is wrong with me.
We are going to be trying again as soon as my cycle begins. But I am so scarred that this will happen again that I want to fix me.(even if there is nothing to fix)
So anyway, is PCOS something that can be tested for? Could I possibly have it and my OB and RE just missed it? Any thoughts would be great. Thank you

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I have PCOS and I was tested for it through blood work and an ultra sound. The one think that I know about PCOS patient's is that it's very hard for us to become pregnant because we do not ovulate. I would ask your Dr. about testing you for PCOS and have her/him do an ultra sound. If you have PCOS you will have cysts outlining your ovaries (it looks like a pearl necklace).
Do you know if they tested you for a clotting disorder?
Good luck sweetie...I hope you get some answers. I'm here if you ever need to talk.
You can also have PCO, where your blood tests (insulin levels) come back OK, but you just have cysts on your ovaries. That's what I have.
I've also heard from many women on here that they took Metformin, got PG right away, stayed on it, and carried their healthy baby to term.
best of luck!
1. A history of irregular menstrual cycles and anovulation with onset at puberty (Twenty-five percent of women who have PCOS have regular menstrual cycles however)
2.Elevated total and free testosterone levels (your doc can measure these on a morning bloodtest)
3. The presence of polycystic ovaries on ultrasound (not necessary for the diagnosis though)
Other clinical features often present but not official criteria: hirsuitism (excess hair), obesity, insulin resistance and acne
