OK ladies, I am freaking myself out here.
I went for my US to make sure all is well before I start stims tomorrow for my IVF cycle. RE was happy with how things looked for day 2 of AF. He counted 6 follicles all together (4 on one side and 2 on the other). He seemed happy with that number, but when I go to this site: http://www.advancedfertility.com/antralfollicles.htm it has 6 down as a low count with probable poor response to stims.
If this is true, then why did my RE not say this? Am I missing something? Could more follicles show up?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
You might want to ask your RE more about the significance of your #s.
Also, egg quality is as important as egg quantity. My understanding is that certain protocols are more likely to produce quantity, while others are geared to produce better quality. It only takes 1 good one!
Good luck - keep us posted!
The antral follicle count has to do with your general ovarian reserve. Before my first IUI I had a baseline that showed 7 follicles (4 and 3). This is actually pretty good at my age (41). It isn't ideal, especially if you are younger, which would imply premature ovarian failure. However, that doesn't mean that it won't work in the end. Also, since you have been on BCP waiting to start stims for IVF, I think that can affect the baseline. I think they are mostly looking for cysts or some other reason not to stimulate.
Good luck!! I have my baseline U/S tomorrow, although I do a booster on Saturday and don't start stims until next week.
