Has anyone delt with Male factor infertility? My DH had a reversal and while his counts (20 million & 45 motility) are very good post reversal, there wasn't any "live swimmers" 14 hours after intercourse.
Can anyone tell me more? I haven't been able to talk to my Dr. and the nurses don't seem to know what the scoop is.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Heat kills sperm. So make sure you're DH is not taking a hot bath everyday or sitting in a hot tub or sauna. Might try boxers too if he normally wears briefs - keeps "things" cooler. FYI: I didn't know this but my DH's urologist said it takes 3 months for sperm to grow/mature.
Hope it helps!
I knew he had some motility and morph issues, but not enough that we needed to do anything other then IVF w/ICSI
Then we went for ER last week and he had zero motility. They took two samples and they were both the same.
We don't know why it suddenly dropped to zero. We are assuming and hoping it is from a supplement he was taking that he got at a health food store.
He will be going back for tests and then we will know if that is what caused it to suddenly drop like that. But, it takes 3 months to make a sperm so hopefully it did not kill all he had in reserve or we will have to wait several months before trying again.
We are not supposed to test 14 hours after ejaculation though. It has to be within five days but more then two days.
I wish I had more information for you. Good luck!
Also, we've never heard anything about my DH's morphology. His urologist wrote "excellent" on his last results. Also, my DH only had swimmers on one side post reversal. There was too much damage to one of his Vas to repair so he's working off one side.
Anyway, I guess I am just thinking that if there weren't any swimmers that maybe someone has some input since I can't talk to the DR.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING WITH ME. At least I know there are other options!
