Hello everyone,
I am new to this group and this is my first time posting. I am towards the end of my first IVF cycle. I've already done the retrieval and transfer and now I am just waiting to go in for my blood test (scheduled for 11/10). We had two day 5 embryos transfered on 10/29.
I can't stand the waiting and have started taking HPTs. My HCG shot (10000 iu) was on 10/22 and I know it takes a while to get out of your system...so I'm not sure when I should trust the HPTs. I took one Monday, Tuesday, and again today (today is the 14th day past the trigger) and they have all been a faint positive (light line, but definitely there!). It hasn't been getting lighter or darker. Would the trigger be out of my system by now? I have had trigger shots before in my IUI cycles and thought I had gotten a negative HPT test by now during those times, but I am not sure. I have read that it should be out of your system by the 14th day, but is that really true? I'd like to believe I am pregnant (obviously), but don't want to get my hopes up if it is probably just the shot.
I hate this waiting game - and I feel like it has been such a long hard road to get here ...I don't know what I will do if it's negative - I feel like I can't take another one! I guess I will get up and try again...but even the thought is depressing and exhausting!
Thanks for any advice/help you can give!

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Do you have any idea why my test isn't until Monday if it is possible to detect this early? Is it because they don't want to get a false negative if they do it too early? I know it's not because of the weekend because they do blood work on those days.
Good Luck!
Mere
I ended up calling my RE yesterday to ask if it could be a false positive and she was really vague and told me that if it's positive on Saturday it's a "really good sign"...ugh! Well, I will keep testing and hopefully the 2nd line won't disappear!
Good luck on your BETA today BritanyM! And hang in there Mere...
