I was so disappointed to read in the "what would you do different" disscussion that many of you would not waste your time with IUI's. I was curious if that is from both a male infertility perspective and a female infertility perspective? As far as we know, many tests done, everything is normal for me. We are in the 2WW for my 2nd IUI. I was wondering if anyone had success with IUI's early if female infertility was not a factor? Thanks for any help!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
We have male factor, but I am also 38 so for me, time is a factor. If I was younger, I think I would try 3 IUIs. I also think it depends on your DH SA. My DH has 4% normal forms, so it is a bit borderline that IUI would ever work for us. Good luck and remember, it works for lots of people!
We don't look at IVF as an option for us, for personal reasons...so we will keep trying IUI, and the DR. actually gives us as much of a chance with IUI as IVF>>>
I am certainly not a doc, but this was my experience & what was told to me by my RE. I soooooo hope you get your BFP!!! Remember..it only takes one.
Good luck, you will be in my prayers!!
One more thing..DH and I BD for 3 days stright just incase, unfortunately it didn't work for us:(
If you are using donor sperm than I very seriously doubt they are using sperm with a low count. Doctors have a "first do no harm" oath that is taken very seriously. If they were using a low count sample that would be unethical....so I'm sure you're just fine!!!!
GOOD LUCK
To answer your question, I am glad that we did so many cycles because when we go for IVF, there will be a strong baseline and hopefully it will save some money and help with the results. More importantly, it has helped my husband (who has three children already) to see the process and accept it doesn't always work the same as when you were 22! My Dr's office keeps telling me IUI's do work but it hasn't for me. If I didn't put forth so many eggs, I think I would have moved on much quicker. Hopefully time isn't our biggest factor....
