So I got an email from my RN after asking about estimated retreival/transfer dates. She said it's taking me a little longer to respond to medicine and not to worry, some patients take longer than others.
Now I specifically told them when I went in originally that I wanted to have an agressive treatment that would grant me as many eggs as possible without getting sick. For some of you who think I'm just being greedy, there's a reason to my madness... look at my profile!
So I'm wondering why they didn't give me a higher dose after seeing how I responded yesterday. I go back in tomorrow for monitoring.
How do I ask politely if they're doing everything possible to give me the best chance at follicle growth?!
I'm worried after hearing from the RN that this'll end up as the last time. With very few eggs.
Not for nothing, but what are we paying all this money for???

Here's the thing: we are our own advocate. If we dont speak up, who will? Just point blank ask. It wont hurt anything. GL!

I don't know for sure (you should ask) but I don't think slower means less follies...... Just slower growth.....

I totally understand your frustration, but keep in mind that the REs don't know exactly how you are going to respond. There is no set formula for them. Each patient responds to each drug differently. What produces tons of follies in one person may not work as well in another. You can even vary cycle to cycle. It's hard, you want to be pregnant and you want to make sure that you are doing everything. Keep being firm about your needs but remember this is not an exact science or none of us would ever get a BFN... Good Luck,

A very high dose of meds can have a bad effect on your eggs. Producing more maybe, but lower quality, which is definitely more important. Good luck!!

Meds you get in the first few days matter the most. Increasing later won't really give you more eggs or make them grow that much faster. And a lot of dosing is guesswork so they cannot know how you'll respond before they try. Which means that you're often locked into one dosage in the cycle.

I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
