I just started seeing a new doctor recently, and he sent me for bloodwork. When it came back, he said my dhea sulfate was high and he wanted to get more bloodwork just to double check it. I got the second set of bloodwork done, but I have another week before my next doctor appt. I was just wondering if anyone else had that problem and what was done about it? So I can have an idea of what to expect. Thanks.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. "Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), is a natural steroid prohormone produced from cholesterol by the adrenal glands, the gonads, adipose tissue, brain and in the skin (by an autocrine mechanism). DHEA is the precursor of androstenedione, which can undergo further conversion to produce the androgen testosterone and the estrogens estrone and estradiol."
I don't know what they do to treat it... or if it needs "treated" .....
I think the DHEA sulfate is a hormone that can measure many different things, so depending on what's causing it to go up, that's how they treat it.
