Well I started Clomid last night, so far so good. But I keep reading all these posts about BBT, and checking you CM fluid, and than I just read one about someone who just recieved a BFP, but has to check her blood levels first? How do I do all these things. What do they mean. My doctor told me I had to take clomid on days 5-9 of my cycle, than have sex on my fertile days (WHAT DAYS ARE THOSE?) than go have some sort of blood work done to see if I ovulated. When am I suppose to do that? I think it was day 21 thru 23. Have you heard of any of this? I think im to dumb to be a mom.

Today is my 25th birthday, to my somewhat lack of surprise I can see already no one really seems to care. I've always been the kinda person to make sure that everyone I Care about feels appreciated and knew somebody had their back. I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
BBT is basal body temp, you can get a thermometer at your local pharmacy. you take it in the morning b4 you even get out of bed. (in your mouth. i didn't realize this and tried to take my temp vaginally. needless to say i needed to buy a new thermometer. haha) it charts when you will ovulate. you temp will rise when you are about to ovulate. or you can just pee on a ovulation test stick. those aren't always reliable if you are on clomid.
CM fluid is cervical mucus. it is suppose to get thick and you are suppose to produce more when you are ready to ovulate.
most women ovulate between day 13 and day 21. my doctor just told me that my dh and i should just have sex every other day starting on day 13 and going until day 21. he said it would cover my bases and i wouldn't have to measure my BBT and CM. on day 21 i had to go to the hospital and have blood work done to see how much progesterone is in my blood. it is a pretty accurate way to find out if you actually ovulated or not.
just so you know, i don't think you are dumb. your doctor should've told you all of these things. i didn't know any of this b4 my doctor explained it to me. i couldn't remember it all so he wrote it all down. my question is y didn't your doctor tell you these things? maybe you should be looking for a different doctor if they won't give you all of the instructions and won't tell you why you need to do it all. good luck. hope this is your month.
While on clomid you'll go in on cd 21 (or close to it) to check your levels to see if you ovulated. What you are supposed to do when you get your period is to call your doctor and set up lab work for cd 21, if it lands on a weekend you can just go the monday after. As to your most fertile days that varies and there are a variety of ways to figure that one out. I personally just decided to do the deed every day starting with five days after taking the clomid. (I read somewhere that you tend to ovulate 5-10days after taking the clomid... I believe that was what it was) Uhg... yes it is a lot to read up on and a lot to remember.
