I had my HSG tonight. Everything was going well, until I noticed that there was no ink going into my right tube. I started freaking out, I asked the doc why my right tube wasn't showing up? He took a break and said that sometimes the tubes will have spasms and that he thought this was what was happening to me, especially since I was experiencing some cramping in the right side. We waited and he started feeding the ink in again and I started cramping really bad again in the same spot. He told me that he was going to stop the test right then or else I would be in unbearable pain since that tube wasn't going to open. He walked over to me and saw what had to be a really horrible look of panic on my face since he immediately said "What's wrong ,it's going to be okay" He told me that sometimes this happens, he has seen it quite a bit. He told me that he could do a laparoscopy and open me up but on 93% of the cases that he does when he has these results on the HSG the tubes are fine and it's just one of those things. I was still really worried and was doing my best not to break down right there and totally lose it. He could see this in my face, he kept reassuring me that everything was fine and he wasn't worried one bit. He said that since I have already had a perfect HSG in the past he wasn't worried about pursuing this result and that we are going to move forward with our plans for the IUI! I was happy but worried in the same breath. I guess if he didn't feel comfortable moving forward he wouldn't tell me that it was okay. So, I guess I'm happy that he thinks things are good, just always that fear in the back of my mind.
