When I went in for my baseline U/S I expressed that it might make more sense to go straight to IVF instead of another pointless IUI , especially in light of how much time I would have to take off work for doing the IVF. Since I'm a teacher I thought I could get in a few of the appts. the last 10 days or so before school starts. The doctor basically said something to the effect of "didn't I realize I much time I would have to take off when I was caring for a newborn?" What an ignorant, condescending question!!! What she didn't know is that I live an hour from the clinic so every blood test, every ultrasound means a half day or full day off work. I only get 12 sick days a year, plus I don't get maternity leave, so I have to use any remaining sick days to be with my baby if and when she comes. In other words, I don't want to use all of my sick time trying to get pregnant. I guess we're all on edge from IF anyway, but we don't need that kind of crap.
