Ladies- I had my retrieval today which was not too bad. However, I am in terrible pain since then. My pain is not just in my lower abdomen but also in my chest (around my ribs) and my back and neck. I can hardly
move without crying and having to stop moving because of the pain.
I called the doctor and he told me to take 2 more Tylenol #3s, I just had 2 at 12:30, in addition to the medicine they gave me in recovery. I had my husband help me in to the computer room to look some stuff up. Anyone else had a similar experience? I have a high pain tolerance and I am scared. The doctor said to take the Tylenol 3s and they will call be before they close. My doctor is 2 hours from me.

hello,my husband and I recently received news that our chances of conceiving on our own are slim at most and the best option for us is to use an egg donor.I understand that this is the best choice but am currently struggling with coming to terms with the fact that with the donated egg there will be no genetic factors of mine and the loss of being able to get pregnant on my own.I wanted to know...

theatre and I are there already. I'm having a very berry tea with crackers, cheese and cherry tomatoes and she's having a joint with some beer and we're both on really comfy recliners on thick pile carpet. we need some help with the decor if anyone is around??
I am sorry you are feeling so bad, but am praying they got lots of good follicles!
I will probably be doing an epidoral when I do ER next week to help avoid what you are going through.
But you feeling like this for 2 days does not make me feel better :)
Maybe you're having a bad reaction to the Tylenol 3?
Everything checked out ok, just pain from the egg retrieval and probably since they got 21 eggs, I was more sore than most women. At least that is what my RE says, not sure how many eggs people usually get.
Then, I drove 2 hours home from the doctor, I felt every single bump in the road.
The emergency room talked to my doctor and gave me a dose of IV pain med then sent me home with vicodin. My husband is on the way to get it filled for me. I hope this helps ease the pain. The Tylenol 3 only helped for about 2 hours at a time and I could only take it every 4-6 hours.
Thanks to all of you for your help and support!
The pain eased after about 4 or 5 days but then I got this really sharp pain in my ribs when I breathed in so I had to sleep sitting up for a week, and it was back to the emergency room, but they did a scan and said it was just fluid in my lungs. That pain lasted a few weeks and slowing faded away over time.
So I know exactly how you feel. All I can advise is to keep up the painkillers, eat well and try to walk around just a little bit if you can. Just keep thinking it will only last a little while and you will be back to normal before you know it. I was. Try and transfer an embryo or 2 if you can as you don't want to regret it when you are starting to feel better.
Take care and look after yourself
