I recently did my first round of IVF. I had my egg retrieval on July 19th, and embryo transfer on July 24th. Beta was 41 on August 2nd, and increased to 47 two days later, then 59 two days after that. They told me to stop the progesterone and that I would miscarry/bleed in the next few days after that, and the beta's would drop. Well, that still has not happened. They said it was more than likely a blighted ovum. I went for a repeat beta yesterday and the nurse called me this morning to tell me that it was 353. So now, they are thinking it is an ectopic pregnancy (in the tubes). She mentioned that they may give me methotrexate once they have made sure there is nothing in the uterus. So, I have to have an ultrasound and beta on Thursday. Any one ever have anything like this??? any stories or advice would be very appreciated. I am very nervous now. Thanks.
