I have been reading posts about the mood swings and stuff with clomid. Does the Femara (letrozole) have the same effects? Do they both basically do the same thing?
I am just nervous because I am supposed to start Clomid with IUI this cycle coming up, but am dreading the side effects for me and the people around me.
Any advise would be much appreciated.
Good luck to all on your journey!

Today is my 25th birthday, to my somewhat lack of surprise I can see already no one really seems to care. I've always been the kinda person to make sure that everyone I Care about feels appreciated and knew somebody had their back. I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
I was on clomid for 3 months. I had some hot flashes, nothing unbearable but I woke up soaked in sweat at least twice a week the 2nd and 3rd cycle on clomid. I gained about 10 pounds too. I was bloated and kind of bitchy too. (though my husband will say i am that way w/o clomid sometimes!)
Some people don't gain weight and don't have any hot flashes. I hope you are one of the lucky ones. Clomid gave me MAD cysts on my ovaries. It took 4 months for them to go away and I had to postpone IUI's afterward. If you have PCOS or are borderline, they should monitor you w/ ultrasounds to make sure you don't have cysts. My OB put me on clomid and didn't monitor me w/ u/s but the RE said later that she should have.
Good luck. I love ya!
