Okay ladies, here is my question. I was on clomid for three years and they bumped up my doses to double. But then I went off of it because the doc said we needed to clean me out, so I went off and had my period for THREE months straight! (no this is not a joke) I ended up in the hospital with SEVERE anemia and my levels went from a 34 to a 6. Luckily I went in when I did or else I would be dead. So my question... has anyone had any success from taking clomid? Or was anyone on anything else while taking clomid that made it successful??

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
That said, yes, I have taken clomid and yes, it made me O but no, I didn't get pg. =(
In addition to the Clomid I took Prometrium and Estradiol. I hope that helps!
As far as Femara, I took it once (and am about to start it again) and had ZERO side effects...DH was so happy about that!
My insurance didnt cover Clomid BUT it does cover Femara because its primary use is to treat breast cancer. I also think it is one of the $4 rx's at Walmart if that helps!

I did not have any bad side effects with Clomid. I have heard of a lot of people who did and switched to Femara. Good luck!
P.S. Tried Clomid for 10 cycles and no luck, but now on Femara and so far no luck but no nasty side affects or thinning of my mucus like the Clomid did. Highly recommend Femara compared to Clomid.
Good luck!
