I am getting ready to start Clomid next cycle. One 50 mg. pill on days 3 thru 5. I was wondering what side effects to expect? DO I need to take it at a certain time of day? Should I do ovulation tests to?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am new to this so please be careful with the abbreviations I don't know what a lot of them mean. Thanks! Twila

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
If you are taking it because you are annovulatory then yes, I would recommend using OPKs OR having your Dr do a progesterone test on CD23 which will show if you Oed or not.
Good luck!
The worst side effect I have noticed (2 rounds so far) is constipation and heart burn...
Other then that...piece of cake...Praying all goes well for you.
But, that was just me :-)
I was not moody that I can remember. Not to me at least.
I used the home ovulation staring day 12 of my cycle to watch for a LH surge (it was day 15 for me). Then I went in that day and the next for day for IUI
Good Luck!
Are you having IUI (intra-uterine insemination)? I don't need to use the ovulation predictor kits because I go in on day 10 for monitoring of my follicles and bloodwork, which has shown that I'm ready to ovulate and then they do IUI. (The first part of my cycle works like clockwork - it's the second half that is problematic)
My Dr will only go through four cycles of Clomid - he says if it's going to work, it usually works within the first 3-4 months. I understand that taking it for more than 6 months is abnormal.
Thanks again!
My second time I had only one headache, some spotting and I was tired. But I also was fighting a virus so some of that could have been from that.
I would do ovulation tests starting about 3 or 4 days after you finish them since you don't know when it will happen. I would write down any symptoms to refer back to if you need to do this again and mark on the calendar or somewhere when you started and so on...Good luck!!
I had the worst cramps (the first round) and used the heating pad on my back and that helped too.
