Does anyone know why doctors cancel cycles with 2-4 follicles? I have a friend who's going to do ONE cycle of IVF and she's been told if her follicle response is really low, the doctors will recommend stopping the IVF and doing an IUI. She's wondering if she's willing to do and pay for one cycle, shouldn't she just go ahead even if there are very few follicles. Wouldn't that give her a better chance than if she did the IUI. I did three cycles of (unsuccessful) IVF, but I hyperstimulate, (50 eggs a pop!), so I couldn't help her with feedback about this. Would love to gather any reflections on this from others who have gone through low-response cycles.
