Has anybody been tested for Anti Nuclear Antibodies? If you tested positive, what meds did your RE give you? What about been tested for implantation issues? I had a "perfect" IVF cycle according to my RE, yet received a negative beta. The nurse told me they were "shocked" by my results as they expected me to get pregnant based on the quality of my embryos and condition of my uterus. I have come to my own conclusion that I either suffer from implantation issues or something like anti nuclear antibodies (this is where your cells view an embryo as a germ or virus and attack and kill it.) Any advice would be appreciated! I do not want to go through another cycle of IVF with the same protocol because, if this cycle didn't work, why would a second cycle work? Of course, the nurse told me how "lucky" I am because I was able to have six embryos frozen so I can go through an FET cycle - yeah, I am lucky alright (said with extreme sarcasm!)

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I don't have the answers to your questions, but it would be good to see the responses. If this cycle had ended in a BFN I was going to have them check other things. But since it ended before that point, I will have to wait.
Are you going to request more tests? Kyspier's response is interesting.
the ANA is (+) in all autoimmune disorders so could signal autoimmune thyroid disease, antiphospholipid antibody syndrome, lupus, etc. I would get Thyroid peroxidase antibodies (TPO antibodies) which someone mentioned here because autoimmune thyroid disease is a well documented cause of increased pregnany loss....hang in there

I'm so sorry to hear about your failed IVF, I can only imagine how sad and confused you feel when everything seemed to be perfect. I wanted to let you know that I have been tested for ANA and I am positive. My titer was 1:320 which is high but not enough for Lupus or any other type of autoimmune disorder. I'm in the 5% of the normal, seemingly healthy population with ANA. I have lost 4 pregnancies due to this disorder (or so my doctors believe that is why) but didn't know/test until after the 3rd loss. Once pregnant the protocol is one shot of Heparin/Lovenox in my stomach once a day. I did this this with my 4th pregnancy back in July 2007 but unfortunately it ended for another reason within 2 weeks of finding out we were expecting. We are 7 years and trying, I'm 36 years old and my husband is 38. I must add that the only reason I got pregnant the 4th time (it was 3 years since the last pregnancy) is because I had done one month of acupuncture and chinese herbs. We will do that again soon in 2008 when I'm mentally ready to try again. After 7 long years of heartache and disapointment I don't bounce back as quickly as I used to. I wish you the best for your next attempt, I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Positive thoughts will get you a long way...
