Greetings all! I haven't posted here much, but I have been reading a lot and am learning so very much!
I'm 33 and have been ttc for about 2 1/2 years. I have endo- was diagnosed with stage 3 at 16 when a very large cyst burst. Since then I've had two laps- the latest at the beginning of October. I was on the pill until about 3 years ago and surprisingly i have not experienced a real increase in pain since going off it.
i use the fertility awareness method to track my ovulation- but often double up with an ovulation test. i had one very early miscarriage in july (about 10 weeks). i've got a great holistic doc, have gotten acupuncture for many things for years and have gone through a battery of tests.
my question is this: what next? we waited a cycle after lap surgery and have started ttc again. i've had 3 hystosalpingograms- but they are now certain that one tube is wide open. my husband's sperm has some quality issues but nothing huge. we haven't yet tried IUI or any medication.
my experience with health care is that being an advocate for yourself is extremely important. i live in nyc-so there are lots of options for REs. Can anyone suggest one? Is it too soon to go to one? I have health insurance but work at a nonprofit (as does my husband) so we don't have a lot of extra to throw around and want to make the most of what we do have.
if IUI's don't work what happens next? IVF, meds?
any help is very much appreciated!

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
so far i've just been seeing my gyn- she's a endo and holistic medicine specialist. i think it's probably time for an RE but am not sure
At the very least maybe speak to your GYNO she may be able to refer you to a RE so you can begin to talk about your options.
Being in NYC is great as you will have several options, I see specialists based out of Montefiore in the Bronx. Very often though GYNO's will refer you to Dr.'s that serve out of the same hospital as them. Also keep in mind that the RE will probably want to repeat several of the tests you have already done if they are out of date etc.
Much luck & success to you! :)
