OK, just wondering if anyone else is in my situation. I just completed my first IVF cycle using a pretty aggressive protocol as per the hospital and all along I had a ton of follicles and my estradiol level was really high. On friday I had 16 eggs and we were really excited. Well, the following day we found out that 5 were immature, 8 were abnormal, and only 1 of the 3 fertilized with ICSI. So thankfully the 1 embryo had 8 cells today and looked good, so I had the transfer this AM. Well, the staff was saying that this wasn't what we had hoped for and aren't sure what happended, but are thinking that they may need to use a differnent less aggressive protocol next time (if we needed to do a next time), but that I may be producing abnormal eggs, and that suggested less of a chance of a successful pregnancy. Well, now I'm now sure what to think. I would imagine that having some abnormal eggs (especially as I'm 36) is not that out of the ordinary, but likey half is too much. Anyone have any thoughts?
