I had a beta run yesterday, they just called and said the count was 78. She then said not to tell anyone for another week while we wait for a second test to make sure it goes up.

Some questions, does HCG delay AF? I'm a few days late which NEVER happens when I've had clomid.

is it really possible for a body to hold on to that much HCG for over 17 days? It was a 10,000iu shot i.m.

Are they just trying to torture me? lol, cause it sure feels like it

Is 78 a low number for CD 31?

Guideline to hCG levels during pregnancy:

hCG levels in weeks from LMP (gestational age)* :

* 3 weeks LMP: 5 - 50 mIU/ml
* 4 weeks LMP: 5 - 426 mIU/ml
* 5 weeks LMP: 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml
* 6 weeks LMP: 1,080 - 56,500 mIU/ml
* 7 - 8 weeks LMP: 7, 650 - 229,000 mIU/ml
* 9 - 12 weeks LMP: 25,700 - 288,000 mIU/ml
* 13 - 16 weeks LMP: 13,300 - 254,000 mIU/ml
* 17 - 24 weeks LMP: 4,060 - 165,400 mIU/ml
* 25 - 40 weeks LMP: 3,640 - 117,000 mIU/ml

I do not think that 78 is a low number. They are probably just being cautious although I know it feels like torture. I think they want to make sure that your numbers are doubling so that they can rule out a chemical pregnancy. I had one back in May. My first number was only 21 and it never got any higher.

The trigger shot is only supposed to stay in your body for 14 days so it sounds like you are pg to me. I hope the number keeps going up. Good Luck!

Would anyone know what the test would show for the days after HCG shot if not pregnant?

It would be 0 if you weren't pg. The HCG would be out of your system. CONGRATS!!!!!

I agree with everyone else. It sounds like you are pregnant! Congrats. have you Miscarried early before? thats the only thing that makes sense to me. Is they want to make sure that its not a early miscarry.. ?

I agree with the other women. You are pregnant and it is probably because they want to see your numbers go up before you announce it. Our RE (well, old RE) always said we had to have 2 positive betas with the second at least doubling before it was a confirmed pregnancy.

Do they usually make you wait a week to recheck the beta?

Can you go somewhere else and get them to check it earlier w/o the doctors "approval"?

    I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

    I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
