A hysterectomy is the surgical removal of the uterus, usually done by a gynecologist. Hysterectomy may be total (removing the body and cervix of the uterus) or partial (also called supra-cervical). Although there are conservative alternatives, hysterectomy is performed for uterine fibroids, pelvic pain, pelvic relaxation, heavy or abnormal menstrual bleeding, and cancer.

Do most women have an increase of yeast infections after a Hysto?

I don't know if most people do, but I sure did for the first couple of years. Things got better after that. I also found out I have Type II diabetes and so I avoid sugar which I understand helps with yeast infection

I haven't had them unless I am on a real high dose antibiotic. I try to eat yogurt several times a week. It is really good for keeping yeast infections at bay.

I just had my first one after my surgery. It was a nightmare to get over too! It took FOREVER for the meds to work.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse.
