Hysterectomy Support Group
A hysterectomy is the surgical removal of the uterus, usually done by a gynecologist. Hysterectomy may be total (removing the body and cervix of the uterus) or partial (also called supra-cervical). Although there are conservative alternatives, hysterectomy is performed for uterine fibroids, pelvic pain, pelvic relaxation, heavy or abnormal menstrual bleeding, and cancer.

I had my surgery in May 09, It took me 2 months to feel normal (whatever that is lol). Give yourself time, let your body and mind heal.

I really needed to read this post.... I'm about 4 & half weeks post op, (April 6th), and as some of you know, this surgery has really taken a toll on me, both mentally and physically. I too feel drained from doing simple tasks...and I suppose I'm in too much of a rush to feel better. We all heal in our own time frame, and can't slap a definite date on it. I've read it can take 6 months to a year, to fully be healed, to where we never truly think about the hysto. I'm just getting disgusting with answering to my friends, am I better yet?! Things like this cannot be rushed. God Bless.

I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
