I have some great news for those of you with Belly Button Rings! To start with if you are pre-op like me you haven't even thought about what is going to happen to your belly button ring piercing with all the other things you have on your mind. But I came across this discussion at www.hystersisters.com and thought it was very interesting and wanted to pass it on here! One woman asked "I have a belly button ring piercing will they make me take it out during surgery?" The answer is, YES definitely. If you have a belly button ring piercing or any new piercing you know how quickly they can close up. After paying all that money and going through all that pain the last thing you want to do is have it close up. With all the pre-op tests,MRI's CAT scans they will have you remove your belly button ring for the duration of the test. Usually this is such a short time that you can get your ring back in time before it closes up. But having it out for the long span of time it will be out during the hysterectomy surgery it will surely close up. One woman came up with a great answer! ACRYLIC PIERCING RETAINERS. You can buy them at the mall or anywhere they do piercings but my favorite place to buy everything www.EBAY.com I went to EBAY typed in ACRYLIC PIERCING RETAINER and up popped about 10 choices! I bought a set of 5 retainers, 16 guage(they look just like the bent bars you use in your belly button or eyebrow but they are acrylic)for 4.99 + 3.99 shipping. I thought this price was fair seeing that it saves me a trip to the mall and I have extra in case I lose one or if I need to replace more that one piercing with acrylic for major tests and surgeries. They will hold the piercing open and are acceptable to have in during surgery or during any tests like CAT scans ect. I couldn't wait to share this little gem of an idea with all of you. I hope this helps someone save their hard earned piercing. They aren't cheap anymore and who wants to go through the trouble of re-piercing after you just had major surgery. Let me know if this helps you so I will know I did something good today for somebody out there! Hugs...Pam

I miss traveling with my husband. Has anyone found a specific site regarding cruising for widow/widowers or any sightseeing trips. Not interested in being with couples and kids,,,I realize a cruise ship will have a portion size of families and couples, but perhaps they also put together a part of the cruise ship for groups of widows/widowers????
