I am new to this community, I didn't realize there was a community for people who are having or have had an hyserectomy. I have cystic fibroid tumors that cause severe bleeding. I will probably have a hysterectomy in the next few Months. I have never had any type of surgery and have never been put to sleep. I have 7 children but was always awake for their birth, even the c-section. I know that I need to have this done, because it is getting worse every time I have my period. I am afraid that if I am put to sleep I will not wake up, I know its crazay, but I think that its fear of the unknown. I am a Christian and have prayed about it, but I am still a little nervous. Does anyone have any advice for someone that has never had surgery?
