Hysterectomy Support Group
A hysterectomy is the surgical removal of the uterus, usually done by a gynecologist. Hysterectomy may be total (removing the body and cervix of the uterus) or partial (also called supra-cervical). Although there are conservative alternatives, hysterectomy is performed for uterine fibroids, pelvic pain, pelvic relaxation, heavy or abnormal menstrual bleeding, and cancer.

I had a hysterectomy 5yrs ago due to fibroid tumors. My doctor didn't really educate me on what to expect after the surgery. I'm been experiencing alot of diffrent syptoms and I don't know if it's related to my surgery. I've been having terrible pains in my legs. I'm overweight but it just feel like a down to the bone ache. I'm only 32 so it's not due to age. Also I've gained alot of weight since my surgery. My eating habits are pretty much the same but I've gained about 70lbs since my surgery. Have any of you ladies experienced any of these symptoms after your surgeries.

My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
My surgery was 6 years ago. I really don't have any problems at all that could be related to my surgery.
Why not make an appointment with your doctor for a complete physical. Write down all your questions and concerns and take them with you to the appointment. That way you won't forget to ask everything you want to know.
Are you taking any medications? Is weight gain a side effect? Perhaps leg cramps are a side effect?
It could be so many things. Best to talk to your doctor.
