There are several distinct causes for chronic hypothyroidism, the most common being Hashimoto's thyroiditis and hypothyroidism following radioiodine therapy for hyperthyroidism. Advanced hypothyroidism may cause severe complications, the most serious one of which is...

Hi everyone, I'm new here.
I've been having my thyroid levels checked for several years now because I feel that I have so many symptoms, something must be wrong. My levels always come back normal, but I'm still suffering from these symptoms:
-thinning hair (I've been using rogaine for 4 years, I'm 23 years old)
-always cold hands and feet, fingers and toes sometimes turn blue
-always tired
-puffiness surrounding my eyes
-extremely dry, rough skin
-depression (comes and goes)
-constipation (have been to gastro several times, everything is normal)
-weight gain despite regular exercise and being on Weight Watchers.
-heavy periods (went on birth control to help them)
-a cyst on my thyroid (small, dr was not worried about it)
-my mom is diagnosed with hypothyroid.
Here are my most recent lab results. I really don't know what they mean, except that everything is normal besides my CO levels.
Basic Metab Panel w/EGFR Reference Range
Glucose, Fasting 90 65-99 mg
Sodium 142 135-146
Potassium 5.1 3.5-5.3
Chloride 106 98-110
Carbon Dioxide 20 21-23
Urea Nitrogen 10 7-25
Creatinine 0.8 0.5-1.2
Bun/Creatinine Ratio 13 6-22
Calcium 10.2 8.6-10.2
EGFR Non Af. Amer >60 >=60
EGFR Af. Amer =60
TSH 2.17 0.4-5.5
T4, Free 0.9 0.8-1.8
T4, Total 8.1 4.5-12.0
T3, Total 111 60-181
I'm wondering what I should do now. If my labs are normal, will any dr ever treat me? Is there some other condition that I should be worried about? I noticed these symptoms starting about 4 years ago, it hasn't been like this for my whole life.
Any suggestions are appreciated, I'm not sure what the next step is!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
sometimes my doc will tell me to take an extra pill once a week to adjust levels just a little bit.
I still have symptoms like sensitivity to cold and hair loss.
Also check vitamin D levels...since I have been taking it, I feel so much better.

kerry - I can't up my meds, I'm not on them yet! My doctor won't treat me with normal levels.
I also wonder if I had a blood test *not* fasting, would my glucose bump me into pre-diabetic? The number fasting is so high to begin with.
I am even going to fight to get diagnose with Fibro too as it's linked.
Good luck
Just because a TSH is normal doesn't mean everything's okay. Find a Doc to listen who will test for thyroid antibodies.
Don't give up! Your health is worth the fight. Good luck. :-)
GOOD LUCK and know I'm right there with you!
