Well its an odd story so please bear with me. I have been in and out of the doctor the past few months. Ive gained weight (about 10 lbs since August), had the weirdest feelings in my body. Sometimes jittery, my heart always pounds, blood pressure is up, headahces etc. After some blood tests they determined I have hyperthyroidism. I found this a little odd considering Ive gained weight and not lost it like normal. Now Im struggling on a few issues. Any help would be greatly appreciated...
1.My doctor is doing test after test and not helping me regulate in the mean time. Is this normal?
2. I have this leg issue. My muscled down the sides of my thighs and on the tops will randomly cramp. Like a tearing feeling actually. There was one occasion where I could not move my legs at all. Has anyone else had this?
Thank you for your help!

When my thryoid was hyper I experienced a lot of leg and foot cramps. They would get so bad I'd cry. Also my muscles atrophied and I lost some use in my legs/arms. Gaining weight wasn't an issue with me though. I lost, lost, lost. Are you on any meds at all? Seems to me you should be on something to regulate your heart and maybe a thyroid suppressant if needed. Perhaps you should see an endo?

I am actually seeing an endo. She is doing the thyroid scans at the moment, but due to taking antihistamines its going to be another 2-3 weeks before I can do it

I've got problems with cramping in my legs, but I have hypoparathyroidism as well as being hypothyroid. I hope they find out what's going on with you and get you "fixed" soon!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
