doneit, that is quite a goiter you have there. I had one as well. And yes it felt like I was being slightly choked all the time. Mine finally went down when they got my thyroid on the right track. Please let us know what the doctor says when you have the scan. *hugs*

I had one too and it was a multi nodular goitre, they arent doing anything with it unless it start to be painful or grows but, like cathy, mine too got a bit smaller as they stabilised my thyroid, mine also affected my voice as its pushing against my voice box.Try not to worry and good luck with the scan, from what bit I know they are quite common.

It sounds like a goitre. Doctors will not just send you away, because this is somewhat a common occurence with Hypothyroidism.

It is a goiter. I had the same problem when I was diagnosed about 15 years ago. It looked awful having this huge painful lump on my neck. After I was finally properly treated for hypothyroidism the lump went way down sometimes it flares up slightly but not noticeable. I am on synthyroid and apparantely I will always be. I was 97 pounds and ballooned up to 160 pounds until my thryoid leveled out ( and I am only five feet tall) since then my wieght has always flucuated between 100-115 that has to do with age I suppose harder to loose as you get older:) Hope this helps

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
