I found out I had a thyroid problem about a year ago when my mom discovered that she had hypothyroidism. Right now I'm on the Armour Thyroid which I don't really notice a difference. Before the diagnosis I didn't notice anything wrong with me. I thought I was normal. I know that some of the symptoms of a thyroid problem is being tired a lot, weight gain, etc. I wasn't ever tired but my sister sure was. She slept on the way to school and on the ride back home. I notice that when my prescription runs out, for the first couple of days off it I notice that I can hardly keep myself awake during school. I have a hunch that this is caused by not taking my medicine but it could also have to do with the fact that I stay up late finishing my homework.
So is a thyroid problem hypothyroidism? Or is hypothyroidism a very bad thyroid problem?

I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...

There are many symptons and not everyone has every one. Although I personally think tiredness is more common.
I was confirmed with Hashimoto's disease years ago although I am sure I was suffering from it since my college years. Recently, my Mom's doctor put her on synthroid. My older sister hasn't needed it.
Synthroid definitely gives you a little boost, just make sure its not too much of a dosage. You don't want to develop other problems.
Anyway, that's my family's story so far. Hope it helps you put things in perspective.
