I was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism (after being first misdiagnosed by my old family doctor, whom I'm no longer seeing) and I was wondering if anyone else has been encountering the same effects as I am. That is, feeling like I just can't eat enough. No matter how much I eat (I try and eat a lot of fibre and protein as I was told these would fill me up) I just end up feeling like I haven't eaten for a month. I have been told that my ravenous hunger could be caused by this or that I might possibly be diabetic. I did have blood tests done which showed both a underactive thyroid and diabetes but the doctor wants me to go for another blood test to verify the diabetes. What other side effects of the hypothyroidism have people experienced? I was feeling soooo bitchy, so depressed, no energy, and I just wanted to sleep all the time. Are these really normal side effects with hypothyroidism or is it just me?
