I am new here and was diagnosed with hypothyroidism about 2 years ago. About a month and a half ago I had to go in for a check up ( I had been on lexapro and my doc wanted to know how I was doing with it...I took myself off it because it wasn't working!) So he was checking my glands and noticed that my thyroid was quite enlarged. He told me if my levels came back normal that he wanted me to get an ultrasound. I did have the ultrasound and they said everything was fine. Happy? Of course!!! Very Happy, but somewhat confused. I have read a few things about goiters and all that and it makes no sense to me. When you take Synthroid it is suppose to stop or decrease growth of the glands, yet my glands were smaller and now they are larger. Has anyone else been told they have big glands? What happened? Should I get a second opinion?

I miss traveling with my husband. Has anyone found a specific site regarding cruising for widow/widowers or any sightseeing trips. Not interested in being with couples and kids,,,I realize a cruise ship will have a portion size of families and couples, but perhaps they also put together a part of the cruise ship for groups of widows/widowers????
