I was diagnosed with subacuous thyroiditis in November 2007. Since then, I have gone from hyper to hypo thyroid. The worst side effect of the whole thing is that the skin on my legs, buttocks and lower stomach is either very itchy or burning. Clothing, especially pants really irritates my skin. Outside of topical ointments, and oatmeal baths (which provide temporary relief), nothing seems to help. Outside of a high TSH reading (22.4), everything else seems close to normal. Has anyone else gone through the same thing? What treatments helped? Do these symptoms eventually eventually go away? My doctors have me on a allegra and zirtac combo right now which so far hasn/t helped. I am usually a very positive person, but this is driving me nuts! Any advice?

I miss traveling with my husband. Has anyone found a specific site regarding cruising for widow/widowers or any sightseeing trips. Not interested in being with couples and kids,,,I realize a cruise ship will have a portion size of families and couples, but perhaps they also put together a part of the cruise ship for groups of widows/widowers????
