i went on lexapro about 18 months ago, and my levels have gotten very very hypo. the current dose of synthroid is 175mcg. and frankly i doubt it will stop there.
i have been doing some research that certain antidepressants will cause a need for a higher dose of synthroid. i cant find a lot of info on it, but i am curious if others are having similar problems. i cannot keep gaining weight. i dont even know how to act in this body at this point.
help!

My Naturopathic doctor told me that adrenal exhaustion (which is common in those people who have low thyroid) causes similar thyroid like imbalances - fatigue, depression, weight gain etc. The issue is that traditional doctors do not treat "tired" adrenal glands.
She started treating me with some natural herbs.... let me tell you I feel amazing! It has been just 5 days and I am already noticing a huge change in my moods and my energy levels.
Alternative medicines sound sketchy to some people (I use to be one of them).. but look into your options. I hope you feel better!!
I think connecting with your doctor is so critical. You have to feel like they are truly listening to how you are feeling.
Good luck with your research!
