My TSH was 5.61 and my doc said not to worry about it -- but from what I have read this is high -- what do you all think? Thank you.

Yes, that DOES seem high; the current recomendation is to keep TSH lower. However, you need to know what your lab's ranges are, as well. If you are having a baby, then you need to consider an endocrinologist, preferably one who specializes in fertility problems.

My doc told me that she wants my TSH at 2.5 and no higher for a successful pregnancy. There is a higher risk of miscarrage and other harmful complications when you are hypo. 5.61 is low for someone who ISN'T trying to get pregnant. Find a new doctor.
