Hypoparathyroidism Support Group

Hypoparathyroidism is decreased function of the parathyroid glands, leading to decreased levels of parathyroid hormone (PTH). The consequence, hypocalcemia, is a serious medical condition. This presents with tremor, tetany and, eventually, convulsions. Severe hypocalcemia, a potentially life-threatening condition, is treated as soon as possible with intravenous calcium.

Hypothyroidism...is there a cure?

Hypo thyroid I am gaining weight at rapid speed..I am over 200 lbs. I starve myself, I work out 3 days a week (treadmill and bike) at least 45 minutes each time. I try to watch what I eat. My doctor has put me on synthroids (levothyroxine) for 30 day over the last two years and it is not working. Its frustrating because the weight is getting too heavy to carry around. Is there a cure without taking any pills. Any suggestions, I need help!
