I was diagnosed two weeks ago with hyperthyroidism. I went to my Dr. because I had gladular pain in my neck(which was unrelated, but I seem to have been sick with everything since December) and she noticed that my thyroid looked enlarged, did blood work and sent me for a ultasound. Blood work came back hyper and I actually have a 1.2cm "active" nodule on my thyroid that is making me hyper. I have gottne past the freaking out phase, except I am very concerned out my blood pressure which is high. I don't have an endo appointment until first of August, which seems an eternity, but have been trying to diet and exercise to get my blood pressure down. What can I expect when I go to the endo? Will they do biopsy? does it take along time to get results back, does treatment start failry quickly? Would it be out of line to ask for bp medication until they get this figured out? Thanks for listening.

I miss traveling with my husband. Has anyone found a specific site regarding cruising for widow/widowers or any sightseeing trips. Not interested in being with couples and kids,,,I realize a cruise ship will have a portion size of families and couples, but perhaps they also put together a part of the cruise ship for groups of widows/widowers????
