Hi my name is Samantha, Im 25 and I was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus in 2006. I was healthy all my life until i had a seizure and was rushed to the hospital were they diagnosed me with hydrocephalus. Like most people with this condition I did not get a shunt. My surgeon felt due to the fact that shunts can be complicated(ie. infections and needing to be replaced frequently)he did a surgery called Endoscopic Third Ventriculostomy(a small perforation is made in the thinned floor of the third ventricle, allowing movement of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) out of the blocked ventricular system and into the interpenducular cistern (a normal CSF space). This seemed to have worked but lately i have been suffering from severe back pain and am wondering if these two are related. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
