My daughter, Linda, was shunted at three days old. The shunt works fine. She has had a lot of therapy in her first 3 years; OT,PT,DT, and speech therapy. She is now in Kindergarten and is NOT doing well. She wanders the room, has temper tantrums, cannot master counting past number two, and has vocabulary problems(talks like a chatty cathy doll, but nothing makes sense. We call it verbal vomit. The teacher has called for a special ed. meeting. It has also been suggested that we have a neuro/psychologist evaluate her. Problem: We live in the middle of FREAKING NOWHERE! Seriously, we are 9 miles from the Texas/Mexican border. There are no specialists within a 4 hour drive. They tell me that she may need WEEKLY visits! Help! Should we move closer to the medical help? Not impossible, but impractical at the moment. Someone suggested she may have NonVerbal learning disorder. Anyone know about this? Also, where can I find other parents to talk with, socialize, cry on their shoulders? She is my baby, and I love her so much.

I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
