I had my annual exam today, during which the doctor used acid to remove several stubborn warts. He's treated these same areas twice before (third time's the charm), but they keep popping back up in the same spot. The doctor told me to give myself about two weeks to heal, and then to let him know if the warts are still there because he'll want to do a biopsy. He said sometimes when they won't go away, the warts become cancerous. I've never heard this before, most of what I've read is that your body eventually overcomes the virus and the warts go away on their own. Anyone been told this before or have any information? I'm a little freaked!
