As most of you know I have a new OBGYN that I see on Dec 12th. Meanwhile I took my records from my prior doctor and today I got a call because of all of the confusion with this office!!
To spare you the past details, this is what my old doctor said. I have ABNORMAL cells that showed on my pap and HPV. OKAY, first they said GRADE 1 cells and HPV and now the doctor says Low Grade abnormal cells. Although they understood why I was leaving the office, they said that I need further treatment, some kind of vaginal biopsy to SEE just what the tissue is doing, and that I could indeed have cancer? Does this make sense to any of you, and with that all I can say is THANK GOD I am seeing a new doctor. I have never felt SO confused in my life. I did see the report from my pap, and it did say LOW GRADE, IS that the same as Grade ONE?
OH and on my records, I was unable to read one of the reports because they did not remove a sticky note when they photocopied it, and it blocked out some of the report! Grrrrrr
Hope I have not confused all of you. I am just discouraged and I still don't feel like I understand what is wrong with me.
Thanks...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
If they said it was low grade your PAP, that would be LSIL-CIN1 which stands for Low Grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesion. Which means early changes in the size, shape and number of cells. It means it's pre-pre cancer. Not cancer and if detected early, can be treated to reverse the dysplasia. Now HSIL is high grade and the difference is in high grade one would have a large number of precancerous cells that look very different from normal cells. Grade one would be referred as Low grade CIN1.
That is what they are referring to most likely in your report. I have low grade CIN 1. It is not cancer and rarely rarely turns into cancer as long as you treat it right away and remain on top of your treatment and appts. Colpscopy is the best form of treatment with low grade.
Glad to hear you are going to a new doc. That is sooo important and do ask questions of concerns, especially whatever is in your report to.
Keep me posted. I wish you the best of health.
