You can discuss with your doctor various options including watching and waiting. You don't say how old you are, but if you are anywhere near menopause, this could also be one reason why the mild dysplasia is hanging around.
Unfortunately, the connection between HPV and cervical cancer is still new enough that there's just not enough information out there and even doctors sometimes don't have answers.
I did find some info about the Digene HPV DNA test (interpreting results). It sounds like positive/negative results are based on the concentration of the virus. So if you have a low concentration of the virus, it will come back negative.
I think I will ask for another HPV DNA test at the 2 year mark. I think that if it comes back negative, I would prefer the watching and watching to LEEP (because I want to have children).
