Although I had a nurse practitioner inform me of my GWs, I went to my gyno today and had my HPV positively identified. We discussed treatments and he at first wanted to try a topical procedure, 25% Podophyllin. He applied it to the area of my warts and I have to rinse it off in warm water in about eight hours. He also wrote me a Xylocaine Ointment 5% prescription in case the area starts to get irritated. If after a few treatments my GWs aren't showing any signs of receding, we're going to try excision. I know topical procedures are less likely to work compared excision, but what have others experiences been with creams and ointments? If anyone has specifically tried 25% Podophyllin, I'd love to know what you think. I shuffled through the forum to try and find a similar topic, but couldn't, so sorry if this is a repeat post.
