I'm new to DS and don't know how to maneuver around yet. Does anyone know how to change my mood on my profile? I've been feeling pretty good lately and would like to share that when it happens! Although this is certainly not the way I expected to approach middle age, I'm trying to make the best of it and am hoping this site will help me find friends who understand what it's like to live with HIV/AIDS, especially being diagnosed this late in life. While I try to figure out how to best use this site (I can use all the advice I can get), please visit my profile, and if you think we have anything in common (even disregarding our common life situations), feel free to contact me for conversation or even just to say hi.
Hope you're having a great day!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I have had HIV for over 20 years and have managed to stay "healthy" without the use of pharmaceuticals. My most powerful weapon in this diesease is my mind. If you truly want to stay well, stay forever conscious of what you put in your body and mind. Where you put your ENERGY. Research everything you can about HIV but stay away from all of the possibilities. By that I mean, well do not read a LOT of stuff about sickness and dying cuz that kind of stuff can mess with your head. Try instead to fill your head with hope and promises and people who are positive.
BEing older has it's advantage in that you should know yourself pretty well by now and hopefully are not bothered by what others think or don't think. You know how to do best for yourself and are not afraid to ask questions. Explore different options and listen to that little voice inside that tells you everything will be alright.
