I'm 22 and I have high cholesterol. My LDL is about 145 or so and my HDL is just a little bit lower than it is supposed to be. I am kind of confused as to why I have high cholesterol. I try to exercise often and only recently did I stop being on a strict healthy diet. I would not eat sweets or fattening foods. I have not been on a strict diet for about 8 months. I have been eating more sweets and hardly any fruits or vegetables. I just got tired of being on a diet. Could this cause the high cholesterol? I think I had high cholesterol when I was a lot younger for no reason. I am an average weight and did not expect this. I read that any weight can have high cholesterol and I think it runs in my family, but am I doing something wrong? Maybe my eating isn't great but I didn't think I was doing that bad.
