hi everyone, i am new to this cholesterol thing. i'm 29. i had blood work done last week, and just came from my doctor, and she told me my cholesterol was high. i have never had this problem. it runs in my whole family. i don't underdtand about it. i eat well, but am a little onerweight, like 30 lbs, due to medications, i exercise, and am trying to lose more weight, i've lost 10 lbd so far. can anyone give me advice about what you can do to bring it down? my doc told me the normal level is 125 or something, and my level was 227? and something about try glyceralds? i have no idea what she was talking about. and she just rushed me outta there. she said she would call it a mild case of high chol. so, i am lost. any advice would be graetly appreciated. thanks, sarah. p.s. can smoking make your cholesterol high?
