Was reading an article in a recent Arthritis Today about the brain & various things that affect its ability to function.
The following is a direct quote:
"...a class of drugs being studied for the prevention of Alzheimer's actually may DAMAGE brain function in some people. The cholesterol-lowering statin drugs - Lipitor, Crstor & Zocor, for exapmle - have been shown to improve brain function in some studies by improving the flow of blood and nutrients to the brain. That's good news; HOWEVER, improvement may be offset in certain people who are vulnerable to statins' propensity to impair the function of mitrochondria, the energy-producing elements of the cells, says Beatrice Golomb, MD, associate professor of medicine at the University of California, San Diego.
"People report forgetting what they said, having trouble tracking themselves in a sentence, having word-finding problems and forgetting where they were going or what they were doing. There is even a subgroup of people who have actual amnesia episodes, but that is rare," says Dr. Golomb, a renowned researcher in the field of statins and brain function. "Severe cases can resemble Alzheimer's disease."" (end quote)
Getting off and taking the recommended mega doses of COQ10 has not helped me regain any of my energy (except that I don't sleep as late) nor has it improved my memory issues. I only hope getting off has stopped the downward spiral of both.

Very Interesting article. ALthough I am unable to take Statins and COQ10, it is vital that we all understand the medications on the market and how they impact patients.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
