What I mean is that if you already have high BP, using any salt, will increase it.
The American Heart Organization recommendation is less that 1500 mgr of sodium/day for healthy people .... if you take 200 grs. of normal bread a day, you are already over that.

The recommended amount for a normal (non-hypertensive) person is no more than 5 - 6 grams of salt a day. That is about 1.5g of sodium. We should be eating less.
You can get all the sodium you need from natural foods without added salt.
If you are sensitive to salt, you should definitely avoid ready meals, Chinese takeaways, Indian takeaways and pizzas as they almost all have enormous amounts of salt in them. Restrict your cheese -- if you want some, then Emmental is a lot lower in salt, as is cream cheese (Philadelphia). Bread is moderately high too, unless you make your own and don't add salt.
Of course, with any diet, there will be times when you need to break it (company Christmas meal, etc)
Some people are particularly salt sensitive. A diuretic may be useful for those people, if they can tolerate it.
