My blood pressure got up to 238/138 about 6 yrs. ago when I started having high blood pressure. Always before that it ran like 96/72; anyway it was usually low. In the past week it has run anywhere from 177/135 with a heart rate of 130 to 115/86. Anyone else have this fluctuation? I am currently on Nifedipine, Lisinopril, Chlorthalid, Lopressor, and Catapres when the upper number is over 150. I have an appt. with a cardiologist Nov.27th to try to find out what is going on. Any one out there have these problems? My grandmother had uncontrollable blood pressure and died when she was 54 because it shut down her kidneys. Of course that was back in the 50's but it scares me to death because I also have Lupus.

I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...

When I used to be on PD dialysis and I had and one of the infections I had in my adbomen my bp shooted up to 280/130. I have had all kinds of wacked blood pressure with my condition. A couple weeks ago at dialysis it was 238/150. I had a bit of fluid overload and winded up in ER and the hospital.
My mother's side of the family just about all has high blood pressure so I have live around it my entire life. I would be better if your doctor could get yours down toward normal and keep it there.
